OGITECH: Freshmen Examinations Not Guaranteed for First Three Days – ASUP IGBESA Warns

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics at the Ogun state Institute of Technology, Igbesa has threatened to disrupt the forthcoming examination of the National Diploma one and Higher National Diploma one over the non challant attitude of the Management and Council towards their legitimate and statutory demands.

Runaroundnews correspondent received a sensitization letter forwarded to ASUP Whatsapp loop through a source who pleaded for anonymity.

All efforts to Contact the Chairman of the Union proved abortive as he was said to be seriously ill and currently in an undisclosed hospital for treatments.

In an interview with two(2) members of the Executives whom will not like their names to be mentioned, they confirmed the story and made it known that the decision of the executives are backed by the Zonal And National body of the Union.

It was gathered that the Zonal Cordinator of Zone C was not pleased with their chapter Chairman for allowing the Management present its budget and accessed the Revitalization fund without setting up a Budget Monitoring Committee as stipulated in the guideline by the Presidential Implementation Monitoring Committee((PIMC) and has vowed never to allow the Management access the fund if the needful is not done within two(2) weeks by the Management.

In the same vein, the Publicity Secretary of ASUP IGBESA also stated that Engr. Comrade Ashafe Yekini in a meeting of ASUP chairmen and Zonal Executives held on friday 4th of May at the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa frowned at the refusal of the Ogun State Government to announce substantive Rectors for the four(4) ICT Polytechnics and call on the federal Government to do same at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos even after concluding the process for over five to six months.
